Oh thanks HK...I DO love it. That is really detailed. I saw one that was a heart on some TV ad. It's pretty interesting how much climbing he got in.
It must be interesting to plan it out.
I use Strava also (gadget whore here) but I frequently lose the tracks because my iPhone powers down before I finish.
THANKS, Susan

I passed on the idea of doing the Seattle half-marathon on crutches. I did figure out a way to rig my climbing harness to the crutches though!

Just got done speed walking about 6 miles. Put a roast in the pot on low and when I got back it was tender and the added herbs were smelling up the neighborhood.
One way to celebrate the first day of winter.

I lifted 106,000 pounds of weights in four hours in the gym the day before Thanksgiving, 2013. All free weights. No machines except for the calf raise and seated calf raise machines. If you don't lift weights it may be difficult to relate to the experience. I weigh about 168 pounds. It took me a year to work up to this amount. I was kinda sore all over the next day.
I have noticed that big days in the gym do wonders for my endurance, after a week of recovery. About two weeks later I swam a 2,000 yard IM comfortably without resting. My previous best IM was only 1,000 yards. Still, I am as slow as a turtle at age 59.
Been playing quite a bit of tennis since then. It is surprisingly demanding of my legs. I'm not very good at it though. It is so spontaneous and requires such a wide variety of quick responses to stay in the game. It is a ton of fun. Not like 53 tons in the gym.

Tahoe people, Does anyone have a recent conditions report for groomed striding and skating at Tahoe Donner, Royal Gorge, or that place near Tahoe City (forget its name right now)?
Thanks.
I've been scraping my striding skis over rocks, grass and dirt for the past 2 weeks here in Plumas County. We've got about half of 0.1 metric millimeters of snow here!

9 miles yesterday, ran 7 today. Some races scheduled. The lottery is open for the ESB run up, I'm getting a little old for this kind of carnage.

So far three hikes two snowshoes in the new year. Kind of a slow start.

10k race in Central Park this morning. Raining with ice under the water on the big hill. A little backsliding. Happy with the race I ran. Pain all the way. Stopped when I stopped so it's good.

Congrats on the 100 burpees. I fail at burpees. I just can't make the commitment. Some kind of psychological barrier. Them and kettle balls.

All it's been is biking, hiking, running. Got a little skiing in over in Europe when visiting my son, some skiing very early on in Colorado...but looking like not much more until we head north to Bridger Bowl.
Tis a slow aerobic start.

Skated 10 miles on a groomed snow machine road @32f and lightly sprinkling. It was nice and upper-bodily.

I've done close to no exercise for months (except for a snow climb of an Italian peak during Christmas vacation).
This morning I decided enough is enough, and did a short run around the hill where I live. Nothing to brag about, but it's a start.
