I'll let everyone know , within one week, what the point spread will be for the Super Bowl.
Until then you are on your own.

Denver by a touchdown. That'll be the game-day spread.
Take Denver, give the points.

opening line was seattle -1.5 but that flipped to denver -1. It's going to be close.
it's laughable to state the donkeys will hang 40 on seattle which was number 1 with 14.4 pts allowed per game. They couldn't do it to NE *IN* Denver and seattle has a much better defense. In particular they have the #1 passing defense and w/o argument that best secondary in the league.
Meanwhile Denver has the #22nd or so ranked defense. Seattle has been playing top five defenses (NO, SF, Car, AZ) and denver hasn't.
Manning is going to get his head taken off. Kap can run and that's a huge weapon. Manning can't and that's a liability.
And stopping Marshawn Lynch. Good luck with that. One of the best just had a 100+ hung on them. They hadn't allowed that all season.
What's really amazing to me is Seattle goes into the superbowl healthier than they started the season. Minus Sydney Rice and Browner this team is healthy. Add back in Percy just-in-time-for-the-superbowl Harvin and Maxwell (who's better than Browner).
Donkeys can't say the same.
And maybe it's just the difference between AFC and NFC but no... it wasn't high profile passing game. It was a beat down of epic proportions. Not sure the donkeys are ready for the smack across the mouth they are about to get.

Nature, thanks for saving me the typing; almost word for word.
You only failed to mention Manning is 9-11 in the post-season with a very
pedestrian QB rating of 86.
You also failed to point out to Philo that he is rooting for a Buick-flogging Republican
and that Russel Wilson is a Democrat.

Reilly you keep your politics out of my football. Lol :-)
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1929452-no-matter-what-happens-in-super-bowl-peyton-manning-has-answered-doubters
It’s pretty hard to criticize a likeable, amazing player, but Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning still has his doubters. Manning’s performance in cold weather and the postseason have been criticized—even though that criticism often lacks perspective.
With a 26-16 win over the New England Patriots and their quarterback Tom Brady in the AFC Championship Game, Manning has told his critics to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine for the second time this season. No matter what happens in the Super Bowl, Manning’s ability to perform in any situation should no longer be in doubt.
Critics sometimes even noted how the Super Bowl would be played outdoors in the cold weather of New Jersey. That’s funny, because the only way the Broncos could earn a trip to the Super Bowl was if Manning performed in two playoff games in Denver.
Manning threw for 400 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots after throwing for 230 yards and two touchdowns last week. Even though it wasn’t cold, Manning already answered those critics by throwing for 397 yards and four touchdowns in 18-degree weather in Week 14 against the talented secondary of the Tennessee Titans.
Playoff Struggles???
Game Yards Completion % Touchdowns Interceptions
vs. Chargers 230 69.4% 2 1
vs. Patriots 400 74.4% 2 0
Total 630 72.2% 4 1
nfl.com
Manning also moved to 11-11 in postseason games Sunday, effectively erasing eight one-and-done performances. It will be Manning’s third trip to the Super Bowl in the past eight years.
If you discount the year he lost to a neck injury, Manning and Brady have both made it to the Super Bowl twice in their last seven seasons. Manning was also the last one of the two men to win a Super Bowl, since Brady hasn’t won one since the 2004 season.
If the measure of greatness is Super Bowls, consider that Manning, his brother Eli, Ben Roethlisberger and Brady are the only four quarterbacks to make it to the Super Bowl multiple times in the past decade. Eli has won two, Roethlisberger two, Brady two and Manning one.
Manning has also made the Super Bowl with two different franchises, becoming just the second player ever to do so. If you want to put all the blame on Manning for his lack of postseason success, he also deserves the credit for all that he has been able to accomplish in the postseason.
With just 116 passing yards in the Super Bowl, Manning will pass Brady for the most postseason passing yards in history. Manning will likely get that record in just 23 postseason games compared to Brady’s NFL-record 26 postseason games.
Quarterbacks w/ 20 Postseason Starts
Quarterback Games Comp. % Yards Per Game TD % INT % YPA
Tom Brady 26 62.11% 247.1 4.61% 2.32% 6.76
Brett Favre 24 60.81% 244.0 5.56% 3.79% 7.4
Joe Montana 23 62.67% 251.0 4.61% 2.86% 7.86
Peyton Manning 22 64.05% 286.8 4.29% 2.62% 7.51
John Elway 22 54.53% 225.6 4.15% 3.23% 7.63
Steve Young 20 62.00% 166.3 4.61% 2.76% 7.06
Pro-Football-Reference.com
Of the six quarterbacks with 20 or more postseason appearances, Manning’s 286.8 yards per game passing is the highest mark by nearly 30 yards per game.
Some of that has to do with how the league has changed, but Brady is still second to Manning.
Manning also has the highest completion percentage of any of those six quarterbacks at 64.1 percent. Statistically, Manning has carried over his greatness to the postseason—his teams just haven’t always carried over their success.
Yards aren’t everything, but Manning’s touchdown rate and interception rate are also similar to Brady’s. Manning has a higher postseason touchdown rate than John Elway and a lower postseason interception percentage than Joe Montana.
Manning’s yards-per-attempt average is also much higher than Brady’s by 0.75 yards. Brady isn’t criticized for his postseason performance because he has multiple Super Bowl rings, but there’s really no other reason. Their performances have been nearly the same, and Sunday’s game proved how much their supporting cast plays a factor.
In his career, Manning has had to carry his team a lot more than Brady. The average rank in points allowed of Brady’s defenses is seventh. Manning’s average defense has been 13th in playoff years.
Brady vs. Manning Supporting Defense
Split Brady (Patriots) Manning (Colts/Broncos) Difference
Average Defense Rank (Playoff Years) 7 13 5
Avg. in SB Appearance 6 18 12
Avg. in SB Win 3 23 20
Pro-Football-Reference.com
In trips to the Super Bowl, Brady’s worst defense was ranked 15th with an average ranking of sixth. Manning has now taken two below-average defenses to the Super Bowl, and the best defense he made it with was ranked eighth in the league.
While some may argue that Manning needs to win another Super Bowl to quiet his critics, even a terrible performance isn’t going to change the numbers drastically. He is widely regarded as the best regular-season quarterback of all time, and his performance in the postseason is now starting to mirror that dominance.
A second ring will certainly cement Manning’s legacy, but to say he struggles in the postseason is simply not true. Manning is one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game no matter when or where that game is played.

Manning and Brady have seen their day. It's now time for the super mobile general's to take over. Wilson's equally good arm and mind combined with his mobility give a big edge. Add to that the best defense, by far, Denver will have seen this year...
Nobody will fault Manning for chocking. The Broncos will simply be crushed.
;)

Nature,
I'm sure it wasn't a mistake. As far as the press are concerned it was absolute gold. The Seahawks PR crew might not have been overly happy about it though.
No biggie to me. Sherman's a great character and amazing football player. Stick a mic in his face right after a tussle with Crabtree and probably a lot of trash talk both ways all week and throughout the game...What do you expect?
He probably blew any chance for running for president though ;)
Go Hawks!

Mr. Lynch is going to have Pot Roast for dinner. Wilson looked less and less sure of himself on that big stage when he was running backwards in excess of 20 yrds at a crack, not a clue where his guys were downfield. And yes, the Niners got some really bad calls but Kap's passing wasn't exactly stellar "in the pocket"

It sounds like Crabtree was dissing him before the season, during the week and during the game.
After the game Grabtree noted "he made one play". They threw Shermans way twice. First time he got called on a valid holding call. Otherwise Kap was smart not to throw his way. It's BS to say he made one play. Every play he blanketed his guy. That's making plays.
Poor Denver. Manning loves his crossing routes. There isn't a team better at making the WRs pay on crossing routes. Legion of Boom.
philo you can post all those stats and read into it anything you want. Seattle doesn't care about the stats. At all.
Seattle matches up against Denver rather nicely.
They have a the best passing defense in the league by far. They have turned into an incredible run stuffing offense (they completely shut down Gore). They can put a lot of the pressure on the QB and pure pocket passer like Manning becomes a non-moving target. In SF game seattle spied Kap. They don't need to do that with Manning.
On offense Seattles ground game will do just fine against the denver front line. Has Denver ever played against a read-option team? That seattle might run read-option is favorable to the 'Hawks.
And on special teams they have Harvin returning kicks. Though he'll probably only return two or three ;)

If the Hawks' defense is something that the Bronco's offense should be so afraid of, then why was Kap (no stellar passer) moving the ball against them most effectively with the pass?
Reilly, where do you get that QB rating in the 80's? Manning has actually set a record for consistently high QB rating (see the link I posted above), and it averages in the 115's.
Comparing the Broncos' scoring against the Pats (a team that has played the Bronc regularly and that "has their number") with what's gonna happen against the Hawks is comparing apples and giraffes.
You can focus on the Broncs not having played this tough of a defense, but I prefer to focus on the Hawks not having played this serious of a point-scoring-machine offense. And, again, Kap is NO Manning, yet HE could pass against them!
Wilson spent most of that game running backward and scrambling around like he was playing a game of Serious Sam. Pretty comical, actually.
Of course, we'll see, but I'm not worried. :-) The number one offense against the number one defense... should be very fun and interesting to watch!

Yes, I too feel defeated when a QB gets positive yards by throwing the ball.
Not sure what you were seeing but Kap finished 16-26 and 153 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs and 56.5 rating. Not sure how that is effective at all. Although take away the rushing from Kap and the 31 total yards in rushing compared, I suppose you are right. Throwing was more effective than rushing.
Manning is twice the QB of Kap. Soo.... 32-52 306 yards, 2 TDs, 4 INTs.
The unstoppable force VS the immovable object.

"serious sam" LMAO, haven't heard that one in a long time!
Kap did throw some Jay Cutler (the 18 million dollar man) type int's in that game.
Minimizing mistakes, ball security and on field awareness are often the difference between wins and losses on a big stage. Peyton's got those in spades.
