Points taken, Nature.

Well, it's certainly going to be smash-mouth football.

I'll be surprised if either steamrollers over the other. Gonna be a tough fight the whole time.

Actually that'll make the trophy all the sweeter for whichever team gets it. Both will have hoed a tough row!

I'm hoping for Manning, largely because you just gotta like him, and he's running out of time to have a season for the ages finish up as it really should!

It was billed as a battle between two great gunslinging quarterbacks: an aging John Elway vs. young hot shot, Brett Favre.

Super Bowl 33 1998. Heavily favored Packers lose to the underdog Denver Broncos.

Different dynamics this time around but history has a way of repeating itself.

Sherman is gonna get his ass handed to him for being such a smack head,

as for bad ass hits?

Ronnie Lott use to hit 10 times a hard,

i had the Hawks winning the Cannabis Bowl back on page 3 but i am changing it to Denver as i can feel the tide draining out of Puget Sound, all that is left is toxic mud and brackish waters,

Nobody says you gotta like Peyton. Just try to accept the beating, Reilly.

It's easy to understand why many don't really know what the hawks bring to the table.

Holy crap! Demarius Thomas is a beast!

Baldwin and Welker are a lot alike. So seattle knows how to play against a guy like that. They get it all the time in practice. I'm not sure they've gone up against a Demarius Thomas. He's sorta like Bolden except younger and faster. Seattle does have the size to match up though.

Nature I truly do appreciate your passionate belief in your home team. They are a damn good football team and I really like Wilson as a player and a person. The Seahawks should have a bright future ahead of them. I have been a Bronco fan since moving to Colorado in the mid sixties. Watching the then Desperate Donks play their heart out with inferior talent was one of the few things my old man and I had together. Ive watched them ever since. Band Wagon fans can spew what nonsense they will, it won't matter one whit to diehards. There's been many a year that I pleaded to the football gods to let the Broncos just beat the damn Raiders.
Years where a sweep of the Raiders meant a successful season regardless of the W/L record for the year. Now to see them play with such precision and pure domination is a treat beyond measure. I can't help but think they are a team of destiny and this is their year, Peyton's Year, Champ Bailey's year, Our year. But hey win or lose the big game doesn't really matter they are still Champions to me for the way they have persevered and prevailed. Besides they beat the Raiders. lol

Well said, Philo! That's heart!

And nobody can single Manning out for special condemnation for being a pitchman. All athletes that can do pitch products they would never use in a million years. Do you really think that Nastia Liuken regularly eats at subway? Hehe....

I actually find his Papa John's commercials far more ridiculous. But, then there's Aaron Rodgers and those discount daaable-check... ahhh... gag... uhhh... excuse me... had to cough up a quick hairball... commercials!

Yer taaangs r in yer seat back welcome to grill claaass.

Can't take away from his football play because of his business ploys.
Athletes and celebrities make bank on endorsements all the time.
Doesn't mean I am going to run out and buy a Buick to pick up a Pappa Johns pizza.
Bob Hope shilled for Texacco fer gawds sake and it didn't make him any more or less funny just shrewd.

To my mind, the best commercial of this football season is....

"What's that? A loofah?"

"No! It's a queeno!" ("Tastes like a dirty, old tree branch.")

I can't think of it without chuckling.

Good defenses cause mistakes. The Denver/New England game didn't have any mistakes because both team's defenses suck. Both those teams are built toward offensive efficiency and are part of the pussyfication of football. If you don't like watching good smashmouth football then you will be better off playing fantacy football with your wife than witnessing a defense win a football game. LOB!

"pussyfication of football"

LOL... good one.

Well, good offenses cause mistakes also!

Witness Manning drawing the Chargers off-sides four times in quick succession. And that's just one example.

It's a two-sided game. Defense does not trump all. If that were the case, then why are the odds-makers (last I checked, and it does change as the game draweth nigh) at present slightly favoring Denver? They make a living getting such calls generally right.
