6 weeks and 7000 miles part 1
Los Angeles to Michigan
This summer my girlfriend and I took a road trip from LA back to Michigan where I grew up and then to a island cottage in Canada that my folks have. We stayed there for 3 weeks and then drove back home. This is the story of the first two weeks driving back to Michigan.
We left LA on Sunday June 19 and drove to Vegas. got drunk, gambled (and won!) and then drove to Utah the next day. We spent almost a week in Utah. first we drove through Zion.
Next up was Bryce Canyon. Awesome place, would love to come back with snow around.
We continued down the road to Moab. Driving from Bryce to Moab was spectacular. I had never been to southern utah and cannot wait to come back and explore more. Seems like a huge desert playground. We spent several nights in Moab camping by the river and hiking Arches during the daytime.
The next day I got up at 4:00am to go back into arches and shoot sunrise.
From Moab we drove up monument valley, past the fishers (need to come back to those again!) and on to denver to visit a friend. Don't have any pictures from the next few days until we got to Chicago where I snuck onto the roof of my friends building for sunrise.
After leaving our friends in Chicago, we arrived in Michigan for a few days before we went to Canada. I don't have any shots of that. I'll upload part 2 some time which will chronicle the 3 weeks spent in Canada. Part 3 will return to LA by way of the Tetons.
Hope you enjoyed the photos-
Matt
