Starting back on the North shore we hit up Donner pass, caught up with old friends on the north shore, and then cruised to the south before reversing our steps back home. All in all it turned out to be one of my better vacations in the last few years.
Cheers!
We also got on Black September, but no pics of that thing. Super good splitter!
Headed straight to the leap to sample some of cali's better moderates
Leap day 1 consisted of Surrealistic -> Hospital Corner -> Corrugation
Missing photo ID#420634
Pitch 2 of corrugation was a great 5.7!
Day 2 at the leap brought us over to the east wall where we enjoyed the line, and bears reach. The line was great with good crack climbing on p1, and circuitous facey/cracky stuff on p2. We simuled bears reach to get to the american river as fast as possible. I'm pretty sure we crushed Dan-O's time on it.
About 25-30ft up pitch 1 of The Line there is a reachy crux. For most I'm sure it's an easy reach (it was for me), but for KL she had to fully jump to the dike/hold to get through the crux! Hahaha I couldn't freaking believe my eye's. My love of 6 years has dyno'd ZERO times in her climbing career, and to see her bust out that move my jaw was dropped. She styled the pitch after settling her nerves post jump.
Definitely felt the love at the leap.
We were leaped out after those 5 routes in 2 days so we decided to check out Eagle Creek Canyon. Sorry for no climbing shots at Eagle Lake Cliff. Instead I've got some good vistas for ya! (Eagle Lake ticks were - Space Truckin', Quest for Glory, Unknown arete left of Quest for glory, and Buster brown)
I'm out Lateeeeeee!!!
