Brad's Tour of Mud: A Visionary Tour of Pinnacles National Park

"I knew I needed to do something all-consuming with my day to push myself through the real reason I was restless. I needed to head to the Pinns, and Brad Young's visionary Conditioning Tour had been on my mind especially with the impending raptor closures only a week a way. For those of you who don't know Brad outlined a day of 13 summits in Pinnacles that would take you to all parts of the Pinnacles; the day promised, hiking, pristine nature, bushwhacking, route finding, and a little 2nd class - easy 5th class climbing here and there. Almost like a Smoke's Rockcourse of The Pinnacles"
It pretty exhausting to upload these things, so travel over to Mud n Crud to see it in a less prohibiting format than Supertopo.

That is a lot of work you put into your TR, thank you for sharing. Seems like a nice outing! I should bug someone to go scramble in pinns with me sometime.

Wow -- that's a mountaineering tour de force that, I fear, those unfamiliar with Pinnacles probably won't appreciate. Thanks for the inspiration and your wonderful trip report.

JEleazarian,
No doubt.
Adamame still hasn't indicated if he had to pull ticks out of his arse yet with all that brush crashing. ;)

That was great!
Love marathon days like that.
I once did a "tour" in AZ- it involved more driving and less bushwacking. On much more solid rock too!
Kudos!

You said the pinnicle's were about 30 minutes apart. How many miles do you think you covered to make the circut?

It's hard to say how much ground I had to cover. Maybe 8-12 miles, with maybe a 1/3 of that cross-country in areas of the park I had never been. It was definitely like climbing a day spent climbing a High Sierra Peak.
Now that I'm in shape I think I'm going to solo Zodiac. It's perfect weather window and I've put that one off way too long. Any takers who want to come along?

Now that is what I like to see!
A discrete journey through a J.R.R. Tolkien Wonderland and all on the hoof. Pray cling thyself and smote the ruin of thy foe upon the mountainside!!!
Yeah baby.

Sounds like fun, but when I click on the link, I get this:

Any clues for how to get past this?
I'm using Chrome.
I was just at Pinnacles today with bhilden, rebolting the regular route on Marmot Rock,
and we randomly saw Brad and Gavin returning from repeating a new route right of Tato Pani.
A nice day out in the sun.

Great report. I thought about doing it myself when I couldn't find a climbing partner, but I most likely will get lost half way through.

OMG, there must be a mix up somewhere. I just checked with Mud, and neither of us is aware that you have had that problem. Wish it had come to our attention sooner. Think all these years you could have contributed to the forum that you are a moderator for!!! I'll contact you offline later today to get this issue sorted out one way or another. Sorry about the screw up! You should know that we would NEVER ban you, Clint!
