Donner Summit Headwall
Sunday May 6, 2012 7:47pm
Headed out to Donner the other night to see if the temps were low enough to freeze the snow and possibly encounter some ice. I was pleasantly surprised to find nice hard neve and some small sections of ice later in the evening around 12. We took a direct route up the face and weaved left near the summit. All in all an awesome climb with an awesome moon. Not the coolest climb but you got to take what you can get in Tahoe at this time of the year. My camera broke so no good pictures to show sorry. Anyone else out there do any tahoe alpine climbs? Looking for partners...

This reminds me of back in the seventies, oh spooner summit south side of the highway and I did the Hornbien ascent through the summit overhang....freezen' the dachsteins and all....What a move at least, 5.15 by local standards.....truely a daring achievement by the wee locals at the time......

Hey Ron how many of these have you done, (To many).

Let alone look at Jay S. and the Bird at the time climbing every Phucking drip in sight.
