Trip Report
Eastside hike/ski/scramble University Pk, Kearsarge area
Monday June 27, 2011 10:53pm
I did a trip in from Onion Valley, University Peak, Kearsarge Lakes, Mt Rixford, Kearsarge Pass, and Mt Gould. I posted a trip report here...

http://tomgrundyman.blogspot.com/2011/06/mountains-were-calling-so-i-went.html

It was a mostly excellent trip, although sometimes too much snow to hike happily and not quite enough to ski.

For some reason I can't upload any pics right now, so you'll just have to take the link to see them. Sorry.

Thanks, Tom. I'd been curious how the ski-climb ratio would be right now. Sounds like the usual June suncups haven't formed to trip you up.

I went in Piute Pass last week w/o the skis, and that was the right choice, the suncups are pretty bad except on the steep faces and couloirs - lots of fun though, especially before it softened up in the afternoon.
