Back in December of 2000, I was lucky enough to make a trip to the lonely desert wilderness of Canon Tajo. It was the start of a 3 week climbing trip that even now I still remember as one of the best times of my life. This climb was one of the high points on the trip and is still one of the more adventurous and difficult routes I’ve done. Here is the report I wrote about it around January of 2001:

sounds like a hell of an adventure.
How many pizzas could you have eaten after a day like that?

thanks guys. it was a hell of a climb. i would have killed for a pizza after that. alas canon tajo is at least 5 or 6 hours of rutted, sandy dirt roads and mexican "highways" from any sort of american food. clif bars and beef jerky had to suffice!

I really liked your writing. Keep it up. The trip report made me feel kind of old. It's a little more than I'm willing to invest now days.

"El Milenio" is now over 10 years old. It has fewer than 10 ascents.
The best time of year for this route is late March through mid-May.
If you are looking for that kind of adventure, send a PM to me for the beta.
Justin, nice TR!
