Nice long exposure of the stars.
So I have no experience with Grand Canyon... can you climb any of those walls? I know there are a couple routes around the rim, but there has to be some big walls down there. Are they fair game? or is the rock quality bad? Illegal? Or are people just lazy?

Thanks guys
Ron, we parked just south of navajo mountain and followed a trail that traversed along the mountain's western flank. From there we dropped into cliff canyon which connects with redbud pass and then to rainbow bridge canyon. We just followed that all the way to lake powell.
Good times and beautiful country
Slater, I've heard of a few long routes down there, but I think mostly the rock quality to pretty bad. I'm sure there must be some quality in all that vastness, but the combination of necessary research and epic approaches scare most folks from even trying

Hit the Sonoran desert. I have walked across Cabeza Prieta cross country three times. Take five gallons of water, do it in the dead of winter. Ajo to Yuma or Ajo to Tacna is a cool hike. Kind of trashed now by all of the smugglers. Haul ass, stop when sweating begins, and pack 7 extra large snickers. Take a bivy sack. I have been rained on in near freezing temps in there.
Abbey did it, but he walked the road on the southern side. And Abbey tended to embellish.
As T. E. Lawrence said,
"Why do you like the desert?"
"Because it is clean."
