Hunter's Moon--Battle on the Heights
Saturday October 19, 2013 12:00am
The full moon tonight is known as the Hunter's Moon.

We in Middle Earth believe it is an auspicious time to get things settled in the community.

Vernon and myself disagree: he feels reefer should be smoked any old way; I, on the other hand, not totally, though, feel it's okay, but prefer a pipe to a joint.

He said I'm full of sh#t and called me an old turd.

Well, anything but old. He's older than I, for gosh sakes.

But being called a turd is, as we've all seen, pretty felonious, if not plain bad form.

This is serious sh#t. I'm a gentleman and this was the other night and I challenged him to a duel on this night.

He accepted and invited me up for coffee that night beforehand.

We are nothing if not genteel.

Here is how we did it atop the Tioga Midtown Mountain at sunset.

We trucked on up to the tower's summit only after strenuous exertion. We shook hands on the successful ascent, like dudes do. It was fairly steep, as you can see. We ran it out Class two. Well, I was in flip-flops, so that's not clearly Class I--it might be Class I+.

[Now, friends of the Drivel, that is "drivel."]

There was no clear winner.

We are having a rematch on the solstice.

And "flavored" papers are just as bourgeois as "flavored" coffee.

I'd rather drink tincture of llama crap than Vanilla Mocha Umpqua Blend or Frangipani Morning! Blecchh!

No Middle Earth highball?

That's a high-quality trad lead, looks like, DMT.

Seriously.

Many of us need a break from serious, Tami. It's why we both do what we do. Thanks for the stamp of otayness. Seriously.

Ring-a-ding-ding!

I thought about using the butt shot, but that was just too confusing!

Of course, stop trying to confuse me.

Pardon me, Dingus. I just caught on by seeing the Gunks TR...

I like the twirly thing with the camera. And the serious tone of the piece as a whole.

Trouble is, you saw the moonrise four hours before I did.

Must be jet lag.

Speak of "quality," NutAgain!, and TR himself comes to mind.

Mt. Rushmore could not blush more with such a heady mix of bug-businessmen and moguls.
