Pulling Hard with a Baby at Indian Creek

We had been readying all winter for the battle, and this spring we came from all directions and launched a full fledged attack on the best crag in the USA, Indian Creek. More then 200 climber-days meant many shenanigans.

The most interesting element of the trip was that Nath, who had sent 5.13 on gear before sending childbirth last year, this time brought Éloïse, her newborn, and got back in shape enough to onsight 5.12! There is not much in life more humbling than watching somebody cruise some climb you struggle on, then come down and nurse her baby. Dear Ron (and Michael)-- Thanks for drawing attention to the ethnic issue. Ironically, I always say "IC" or the mock-accented "In-Jun" to avoid using a slur; I have been taught from a young age that the word "Indian" is offensive (except of course to refer to someone from India). I am comfortable enough to write "Indian", so I have changed the name of the ST post to say "Indian" so as not to inadvertently offend even more people. I left it "In-Jun" on the original post because I explain it in the piece itself (please refer to the link). Not sure how we might have offended people by panties, or using the term "pull hard." But nevertheless, continue on condemning as necessary. I think I stand by everything else here; I was inspired by my friend coming back to climbing after a baby and wanted to share her story. Hopefully that's the message that most people pick up on.
