Trip Report
Salathe wall. . . . our first big wall
Sunday June 9, 2013 12:32pm
First of all sorry because English Is not my primary language.

I just wanted to thanks Chris Mcnamara for the book How to Big Wall Climbing.

My partner and I just came down couple of days ago from the top of el Cap after climb salathe wall, it was our first big wall and everything was so smooth and fluid, I know it wouldn't be like that if we wouldn't read the book.
we were the . . . . Costa Rica Team. . . . . on the Tom Evans reports.

we spent 5 days on the spectacular route and 1 day on top of the majestic - El Cap.

keep motivating people out there.
thanks

As time has gone by, routes such as the Nose or Salathe are, IMO, far more committing and difficult than, say, Zodiac.

Salathe is a super long route. It has mandatory free climbing, while at the same time people take all kinds of stuff to do the ten feet of wide climbing at the top of the Bismark on Mescalito, which is a 5.9 lieback IMO.

Congratulations! I really like this ascent. You came to El Capitan with a lot of respect demonstrated by serious training and preparation.

(You can see photos of the climb if you follow the link to the website and click the red button RESUMEN DEL PROYECTO. On the next page there are day by day reports of the climb and FOTOS EL CAPITAN)

Congratulations to you guys!

My wife and I visited Costa Rica a few years ago, and really enjoyed
our trip.

I can appreciate the work required to climb the Salathe, having done it

thanks to you all.

At the beginning didn't say anything about the climb because it is really hard to express what we felt in another language.

I can see some of you went to the web site and took the time to read about us.

Thanks a lot.... It really meant a lot for us since we train a lot and had no similar conditions to do it, the biggest wall we have here is around 70 meters.
