Italy - Arco - Climbing...

Three days of incredible sun in Arco, three no bolts routes, three fantastic 5 stars classicals i always dreamed about...
a lot of beer and quite some gelato in between
that`s all what it is about....

In three days we climbed approx 900m of great solid limestone ;-)


1.Primo pilastro del monte Casale - Via del missile (VII, 10 pitches, 340 m. Giuliano Stenghel and Alessandro Baldessarini, 8 November 1981)

2. Pian della Paia - Via Cesare Levis a.k.a Diedro Manolo (VI+, 9 pitches, 300m . Maurizio Zanolla/Manolo, Marco Furlani and Giovanni Groaz, 13 October 1978)

3. Mandrea di Laghel - Pilastro Gabrielli (VII, 5 pitches, 230m. Giuliano Stenghel and Giorgio Vaccari, 10 May 1978)

Thanks much for sharing and bringing back some good memories. I'm like ddriver. I spent a terrific couple of weeks there back in '87 or '88, climbing with the locals and clipping only bolts. Got sick strong. Never could entice anyone to do any longer routes with me. I kept getting the reply "no sono alpinisto". Still have to scratch that itch. Maybe now that my two oldest kids have gotten into climbing, that could make a terrific family vacation.
