Trip Report
The Chinchens move to Bishop
Saturday July 10, 2010 5:20pm
Well after a few years of drifting and making due we have been able to move to Bishop Ca. My wonderful wife found a job on Craigslist here that I applied for online. I got a phone interview and then was asked to come in for a second interview in Bishop. We came down and the interview went well and I was hired. I am working for a local company owned by a climber. We have been here a week and we are getting settled and have started to explore this amazing area. We moved from Anacortes Wa. where we have been for a year running a small business doing yacht repair. The business was good but Washington was not where we wanted to be as we are from Bend Oregon. Before Washington we travelled in a motorhome for a year all around the west.
The first order of business was to sell the motorhome and some other crap.....

Here are the girls having a lemonade stand at our garage sale. they made $37 dollars in two days selling 25 cent cups of lemonade!

We sold the motorhome to a cool hippie chick from Bellingham...

it was hard to say goodbye to the Grasshopper as we called it. The old Pace Arrow took us 12,000 miles across some of the best roads in the southwest and west for a year as a family....

We are having a blast. Took advantage of the week I had without work and now I'ts time to buckle down and get back to the grindstone. We look forward to seeing many of you here and dont hesitate to call or let us know if you need a place to shower or hang. And of course I am up for any kind of climbing on the afternoons and weekends. Thanks for reading!!

Good job on the move and TR! Say hello to local sewing legend at the desk next to yours: Alan Pietrasanta, who ran Buttermilk Mountain Works for decades. I think Dave Diegelman worked there along with other actual hard men. Alan is a great guy! I'm still sewing up materials he sold me when he got out of the biz and for quite a while he was making FISH stuff for me too. Solid dude.

Big Congratulations, Chinchen. What's not to love about that area? I get over there every chance I get. There is a lifetime of stuff to do and explore over there.
