The Crags of Summer: A TR

Dearest Supertopians: I've been threatening to post a TR for some time, and I think posting one is part of being a legit Taco. So I hereby make good on that threat. Not a lot of text on this one, and you'll need to make the jump at the link, but some of the pics should get the blood moving. I've been inspired so much by the other TR's--Vitaly, you dog!--so I needed to add my little efforts to the mix.
Be well, climb on, check your knots, beware the choss...

Seems like you had fun at LL and everywhere else. Did you really climb the line 36 years ago?

What a great summer. Thanks for all the pics bAd, my favorite was your dog enjoying the snow. Mine does the same thing.

Thanks for the comments, folks.
Yeah, Vitaly, I was 16 at the time and totally under the sway of the old skool Colorado climber Jim Erickson, so I did it without chalk, too! It wasn't long before peer pressure--"Hey, everyone's doing it. What's a matter, you chicken?" caught up with me, and I purchased my very first chalk bag, which I still own, from Dick Cilley (sp?). Actually, I started falling off problems, not because I was pumped, but I was greasing, and slowly, the beauty of the addictive white powder became clear to me. Actually, at the Leap, I first climbed the year before--37 yrs ago--when I followed another old skooler, Chris Vandiver up Bear's Reach. I now have a loose goal of trying to get up there and do it every year. Haven't always made it, but bagged it this year. I'm kind of shooting for 40th and--Lord Donini style--50th anniversary ascents. Since I'll only be 65 for that 50th, it seems doable, so long as I stay fit and into the sport.
Climb on, Vitaly, you have many decades of vertical hooliganism ahead!

Thanks. I had to spend the last week away from the mountains (and away from ST), so I really appreciate your TR and excellent pics.
