It doesn't get much better than spending quality time with family and friends in TM...and climbing too!

Hiked up to 3PD with Paola, Gerry and two of our kids, Sarah and Michael, who came up from the bay. Peered down at Peter C on it, later had lunch with Paola, Karine and Peter at Paola's.

A couple days after, went up with Yerian and climbed it. Followed Steve and Doug from Vegas and enjoyed chatting at the belays. Good blokes.

Revisited Superchicken on Medlicott with my neighbor George , 37 years after the first ascent with Jim Wilson. I had forgotten how great the handcrack is, a really fine pitch.

M Crest with Ed was awesome, parts of it just a very exposed hiking trail, but location, location, location.

One highlight was getting to climb again with Dick S. on Stately Pleasure Dome.

The last time we shared a rope was when we did the Salathe in 1978. Tried and failed to keep up when Dick started explaining physics. Some things never change.

Best thing about it was seeing so many friends and acquaintances and being able to engage in unhurried conversations, often over beer or wine at the end of a climbing day. Hashbro, Dr. F, Lynne, TM, Bob B., Mike W. George and Jeana, Bruce M., Ron K are some of the many folks we ran into.

Already planning to be there next summer.

Rick, nothing like TM. Perhaps we'll get acquainted next summer given our mutual friend Paola, sorry I missed that weekend's convergence. Indeed such a great place to return season after season, fond memories of adventures and friends for life.

I've never climbed there, and until now had never understood the attraction. But your photos make me realize what everyone else seems to have known all along.

Thanks.

Ricky, you know damned well you were supposed to ask the group for permission on all this stuff; what WERE you thinking!? We may have to start a separate thread titled, "What was Ricky Thinking?"
