Up Nawth Road Trip, A Brief Photo Essay

This isn't really up Nawth for that many of you, but it was for us!
For those of you that have never been near Abiquiu, or Brazos NM, here's your chance. So beautiful up there. If only I was the photographer that J Dodrill or some of the others around here. Better gear would probably help. That and a lot more knowledge........
Oh Well, enjoy!
The Echo Chamber!
Up and up we went. "So I'm packin' my bags, for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go yeah."
"Over the hills, where the spirits fly"!!
You know my M.O., Back in a bit!!

Jeremy, YES! I saw some of that stuff and thought of you immediately!
Cleo, I dunno, why haven't you been there? Just because it's not really on the way to anything??? That's what we like about it!!
TJI, Thanks man. I do have a few faithful responders. It keeps me coming back and posting up!
WE GOT SNOWED ON!!! I know that's no big for some of you, but in NM at the end of April it's different.

Now if Survival stopped posting TR's
I would Care, I would care.

That top band of yellow, above the creamy and red rock, is something I haven't seen. Is that rock sulfurous, or what's the deal? I assume red relates to Iron, not sure about the creamy, but the yellow? I've seen some bluish/greenish stuff at Pinnacles National Monument (California, south of San Jose), and I assume that is Copper.
Looks like a great place, thanks for sharing Survival. I've got a big backlog to share, that mostly awaits my edit/culling through the pictures before uploading to Picasaweb.

Yes, northern New Mexico is a treasure trove!
Speaking of Georgia O’Keeffe:
You can really see the inspiration for her work in those bold colors and sinuous, flaring water streaks.
Your misty mountains look like they might be climbable.

Friday New Mexico bump, just for fun!
Your misty mountains look like they might be climbable.
Yo Tarman, they are indeed climbable. There are some historic old routes on them. I hope to post a TR about them someday not too far off.

New Mexico Bump for my own personal entertainment!
Heron Res? Dude, it's amazing, except when the cops are swarming looking for crashed dope planes.
We're waiting for licky to write a book about it.

I think we've hashed this out before but the one thing I regret not
doing in NM is that big left-facing corner across the river in Chama.
I think that was done BITD, no? I'm kinda leery about swimming swift
water with a rack on. I'm just funny that way.

Given the few minutes to reflect, I'm sure you realize that the way to cross with a rack on is to hold your breath and walk.
Thanks, survival. That's where I'd like to live.

I liked the original posting, brown to blue tones. Then the next seemed to do the same.
It's one way to organize photo essays on this vertical format that I notice is appealing to the senses in that it smells great, feels great, & looks great.
But it tastes terrible and I don't hear a thing.
What Just Can't Say says.
