Where Does Time Go?

I was coming down the gully. Movement caught my eye. My foot had kicked sand against a stone and the sand was trickling down a groove, then falling free in a thin stream to a tiny dome building up from below.
I could see time passing. It went by steady, unhurried, and smooth. Inside me, time took a different direction and I went along with it.

A couple of Americans from Austin were at the base as we arrived.

They generously offered us another blue and gold cam, which we thankfully accepted.
The day before, we had met another guy from Austin.

With him it went like this:
“I was born in Austin.”
“Oh? What was it like back then?”
“I remember a sandbox.”
“Grey sand?”
“Yeah.”
“I know that sandbox.”

Footprints on the sands of time
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother (or sister),
Seeing, shall take heart again.

It was René Clair in its happy lyrical absurdity
…one could believe that this was the life one was born to live, breaking through life as one had been made to live it, breaking through anxiety and irritation and financial depression and a lust which had gone on too long, these voices in the air, this chase of a lottery ticket among the flying opera hats, this tuneful miniature love behind cardboard scenery: nothing was really serious, nothing lasted, you didn’t have to think about tomorrow’s food or tomorrow’s girl; you stuck up your leg in derision sewing pants on the pavement, you fell asleep among the flowers with your black kettle, you touched hands and felt good and didn’t care…

Cool, MH2. They dressed me up like that to play in the sandbox too, when I was a kid.

Time machine appears to be in working order.
Keep it lubed up every 5,000 miles and you'll keep the resale value up on it. :)

True, NutAgain!
And a childhood tendency to find fun in knocking heads also endures.

That was a really great TR. Quite artistically done. I might add that the photo of the woman climbing was really stunning- in many ways!
