Yosemite Big Walls Trip Report.
Wednesday July 28, 2010 7:51pm
Hey everyone, I thought I might share a little about my trip. Some of you may remember my very first trip report of climbing (with lots of suffering) The Nose on El Cap this spring. I left for the valley for a second time the day after I got out for summer break and spent almost 7 weeks there. My experience was absolutely incredible, I learned more about climbing than I ever have.. physically, technically, and mentally.

Here are the write-ups of my favorite climbs that I did while I was there.

1. Starting with Nose in a day, El Capitan.

http://cheynelempe.blogspot.com/2010/06/15-hour-send.html

So if any of you would like to compare that to the FIRST time I climbed the nose back in March, here it is. If you don't care, move on to #2.

2. The West Face of Leaning Tower solo.

3. The Salathe Wall, El capitan

If anyone is still actually reading, on my blog you can check out the write-ups on when I climbed half dome, soloed washington's column, and just what it was like to live in the valley.

Enjoy!

Nice work! Very impressive improvement under #1 here. So how many times had you climbed the Nose altogether before the speed attempt?

For NIAD.

First time up: 4 days
Practice 1 to sickle ledge on pitch four: 3 hours (swapping leads)
Practice 2 to dolt tower on pitch ten or eleven: 6 hours (me leading everything)

Then we went for it, 15 hours.

Thanks everyone!!
