Zenyatta Mondatta. November, 2010.

My brother and I just finished Zenyatta Mondatta a few days ago. Started 11/15. Finished 11/18. Three nights on the wall. Perfect weather. Wonderful route. Good times.

Glad you liked the route, actually you didn't say...

Did you like the route?

I did a 20 year anniversary ascent with my son, he was 18 same age as I on the FA. I guess next year I should go for a 30 year anniversary send! Maybe by then it will go free?

Again Congrats, way to sneak one in before the snow.

We loved it! (I think I said so above, but it bears repeating.) Top notch route. And, yes, we got super lucky with the weather. One extra day on the route and it would've been a whole different ball game.

Nice work on the trip report and especially the ascent. That's pretty fast for such short days. You lads are far keener than me, I am barely started by your quittin' time.

Did you like the backrest I built at the fireplace on top?

Walter: Great shots! Thanks for sharing. Where were you shooting from? Just curious. Would love to see more if you have 'em (or buy some).

Pete: The back rest was stupendous. As soon as we walked over to the flat area just past the belay tree and looked right, we said, oh yeah, this is going to be a good night. Thanks for that! What a view.

Great job, guys! Watched you from the meadow and the base on all 4 days, sometimes through the spotting scope. You were cruisin’!!! Heard the “3:30, let’s call it a day” from the base on your third day. Way to squeeze that one in between storms! Proud send!

True hardmen take the foamy liners out of their pigs and use them with the backrest.

Awesome, Minerals! Thanks for sharing the photo. I noticed someone walking back away from the base of the route toward the Nose either the second or third day - whichever day the rockfall was. That rockfall was crazy!

Could you hear us talking all the way down at the base on our third day? That's sweet. I guess it wasn't very windy for much of the route.

Pete: I guess we are hardmen indeed, 'cause we certainly used the groundpads on the back rest. :-)
