just a few random pics of my vertical year so far with work/friends/family. i believe it all started this year with this. then there was a trip to New Jack City. some work in Oregon on wind turbines. a trip to Wishon. a trip to pinnacles. a trip to yosemite. New Jack again i believe followed by pinnacles then yosemite. then work in utah followed by work in minnesota followed by me bored waiting for my train to arrive in another 40 something hours to get back to california. would just like to thank everyone i went with on such good times. my beautiful GF natalie and my son Bear. my friends Vince, Jerod, Andrew, Ben, Carson, and new people i met along the way like lawrence, steven, dante, kenny, and anyone else for whom ive forgotten names for.Id also like to thank certain people i worked with like austin, jay, Brian, mike, jeff, and wade. had good times working with each even if i scared some of them on accident. I have so many more pics of different climbs at different places and climbing at different tower sites but i think this is good for now lol. Ive had a good year climbing this year. I cant wait to see what next year brings. Half dome and whitney maybe?????

what exactly do you want to know? wind turbines you have to go to some kind of training course/school. i went to Wind systems AV though there no longer in busniess as the owner took another job elsewhere. there are other schools though for around 10,000. cell towers you need to be COMTRAIN certified. cost around 900$ but some companies will hire you with no experiece and train you. are you interested in cell tower work or wind work? any other questions just ask im always willing to help.. btw i see your from SLO? ever go to wagon caves?

I went to the wagon caves once, not really what I was into when I went, more of a camping trip. In general im interested in work on wind turbines as I feel its a trade that wont go dead like many others.I could digg cell towers too. I was just curious if you attended any length of college straight out of highschool. I was aware you had to attend some sort of school to work on turbines, I just wasnt sure how much school it involved, as well as the work availibility. Cell towers seem like a stepping block of sort to get into turbines, Im pretty sick of school already so once im out of Highschool I have no desire to go do another few years. (at least for a year or two until I figure things out).

it requires at least a month of training/schooling. there are college things you can do that would probably help and be better but i never wanted to waist 2-6 years of my life. there is a school in tehachapi ca called " air streams" that does training but its expensive. I switched to cell towers because its alot easier to get a job and pays better, currently making 30$hr and the work is stupid easy. Id rather do wind turbines but ive found it really hard to find a full time wind turbine job. i have experience and qualifications and nothing bad on my record and ive been denied like 30+ wind jobs this year alone, idk why or what im doing wrong lol. its a good field though but dont expect to get rich, its usually around 22-24$ hr and tops out around 28$hr. you could look up rope access work. ropepartner.com is a good site to check out. they rappel down and repair the blades and do all kinds of other stuff. if interested in cell stuff check out wirelessestimator.com i find that site pretty useful

Very nice, and thoroughly enjoyable. I still stumble, though, when I read about Pinnacles National Park.
Thanks for posting this.

Trad I if I were going to give any advice at all on the right direction to go... it would be go to college for 8 years,( university of Oregon has a sweet climbing wall) become a Dr or a Lawyer, maybe even a park ranger lol. I regret not finishing college. cell tower work is fun, but you work with alot of people who barely finished high school, they could double as a carnival worker, its hard to get along with everyone in this industry because there are tons of idiots in it since its good money and you dont have to have an degree to do it. I'd still prefer wind turbine work because its more mechanical and takes alot more thought process on what your doing. I dont plan on working on cell towers forever thats for sure. your still in highschool right? you have alot of time to figure out whats best for you. tower work would be great for a year or two but i would never recommend it as a full on career. especially if you ever plan on getting married or having kids, its alot of time away from home, ALOT.

JEleazarian what makes you stumble? I love the pinnacles. its different climbing thats for sure but its beautiful there and local and never to crowded. Did you know Chris Sharma put up a first accent there on the monolith when he was like 13? I believe. i dont have the guide book with me here in minnesota but i believe it was a 5.13 thats pretty cool to me.
Ryan D, that was a painful blister. had one on each heel too! got it the night i abandoned camp due to a UFO, some wierd strange light that was low in the sky hovering and pulsing and making no sounds at all, it couldnt have been more than a few miles away, id like to say it was no farther than a few hundred yards away from me but i know light can play tricks, it also moved and was not stationary then just went away after about 3 mins. took me about 6-7 hrs to hike to where i planned on camping and about 2hrs total to pack up my stuff and hike out to the road, i was able to cut out 4-5 hrs of hiking time just due to straight up fear.
