Avg time to climb route: 30 minutes
Approach time: 5 minutes Descent time: 5 minutes Number of pitches: 1 Height of route: 70' Overview
The Great Wall is an enormous expanse of sandstone, which is 3 miles wide by 250 feet tall and parallels the main Arches National Park Road. Most of the rock is featureless and only a few climbs ascend even half the wall. Located at the south end of the Great Wall, Chinese Eyes ascends a beautiful left-facing corner in the center of a thin buttress. The corner leans slightly to the left making the route feel gently overhanging in sections. This results in sustained and strenuous hand jamming with an occasional stemming rest when footholds appear. Photos
