Priceless. TFPU and showing the generations, younger and older, what's possible if they're able and have been so blessed. Far in the future you'll have these memories of Mom and you, they'll be priceless. Great Son, you are!!

Great job mom! A beautiful line with great exposure in a gorgeous spot. Just had the kids up there. It was a blast.

However, if you want to continue climbing with your mom you might want to consider getting her a smaller pack. That's quite a load she carried!

Wonderful TR, Greg. My mother, now an infirm 101 years old, hiked up Half Dome with me 51 years ago. That started my desire to climb, and I treasure the memory of that trip. I can tell you'll have wonderful memories as well.

Thanks, everyone. Just FYI, this isn't a rare thing for us, in fact she's been backpacking and climbing for a decade and leads her own routes when I'm not around :)

Go, Mom! -- Great to see another mom out there doing this! I've had some really amazing adventures w/ my son Alex (Honnold), and wish there were more of us out getting vertical. (Check out Gripped Mag for the story on our last one.) There's something really special about sharing a rope w/your kid. (Yes, he always uses a rope when we climb together). :-)

That's great, GD. Shred mama! I can't even imagine doing something like this with my mom back when I was a young climber. Dear old mum, while not overweight, was basically totally sedentary except for runs to the store and such. It definitely shortened her life, although she still made it into her mid 70's somehow. Cherish that ma and be good to her.
