Here is a new problem: Pimp Juice. Moderate/kind of hard- Really good moves on a steepish face to a hard topout. Very fine problem.

Here is a video of Steve Francis on the first ascent of one of the best problems in South Lake Tahoe. The problem is high above and right of Pie Shop. There are many other quality boulders in the vicinity.

Chris,
Problem # 63, boulder R, at Pie Shop was sent today late afternoon. SDS both hands at hueco/scoop. Fire up to two froglike pinch holds for right and left hands. Pebble-pinch petrified cottage cheese-like holds to V6 standup. Is this an FA? Crawford said he did the standup way back when and suggested B1+.

-YOU'VE GOTTA GET THAT FROG TO GO, V11?

I'm looking for some rock climbing as well as bouldering friends to go climb with.

I live in Minden and will go anywhere in a 50 mile radius to top-rope, sport climb, trad climb, and boulder.

Give me an email: info@ultimateninjitsu.com

In the directions to the Pie Shop boulders, the guide says to turn on Sawmill and drive 1.4 miles. This is a typo. The boulders are 1/4 mile from route 50. There are other boulders at 1.4 miles, some with chalk, but not the boulders described in the book

I saw new "paintings" on at least three different boulders. What a shame! Based on the prominent "South Lake" in of the tags it looks like a local "artist" is responsible rather than just someone passing through.

thanks for the heads up matt. i'm planning on heading up there for some bouldering once the weather chills out, i'll have to go look at it. i wonder what kind of cleaner / paint is needed to undo the damage. and if anyone wants to get together for a clean-up, count me in.
